Diana Szynal for State Representative, First Hampshire District

Diana is the District Director for the late State Representative Peter V. Kocot and has provided practical solutions to everyday problems for his constituents since 2002.

Diana was entrusted to serve all his communities and work closely with local officials, state agencies and non-profits by Representative Kocot for his entire career. He relied deeply on Diana for her compassion for the people of Northampton, Hatfield,Southampton, Westhampton and Montgomery.

Diana’s career in constituent services has solidified her sound understanding and deep appreciation for the strong progressive values of this District. She will be a fierce advocate for these values and be the steady hand that our District needs as your next Representative in the Massachusetts House.


For 16 years, Diana has proudly served the First Hampshire District.  She has worked with constituents, local officials and state agencies and has a comprehensive understanding of the issues facing the District.  Additionally, Diana served on the Hatfield Board of Selectmen and many other boards and committees.  She has amassed over two decades of solid experience in both municipal and state government.  With the amount of Legislative seniority we are losing in our area it is more important than ever that we have a State Representative who can hit the ground running.  No other candidate in this race comes anywhere close to Diana who has a profound knowledge of the needs of our district and how to fulfill them.


For the late Representative Peter V. Kocot’s entire career, Diana has been the voice at the other end of the phone in the First Hampshire District.  She has worked tirelessly from corner to corner in this district and is in this race to continue to serve her community.  She began her career in government serving the Town of Hatfield, she then went on to give 16 years of service in the First Hampshire District.  She now will move on to the State House to provide a strong voice and steady hand for her constituents here in Western Massachusetts.


Representative Peter V. Kocot trusted Diana completely as his District Director.  Through her years of work, the constituents came to trust her too.  She has helped people of every walk of life with very sensitive problems, always maintaining their privacy and dignity.  Diana has cultivated strong working relationships with leaders from the public, private and non-profit sectors.  Diana is well known for being honest, straight forward, hardworking, compassionate, fair, intelligent and knowledgeable about the complexities of public service.
